Hi Riya,

Meaning of the sentence is of immense importance on the GMAT.

Intended meaning – Because the plant gives mouth sores to cattle and displaces grasses and other cattle food, the land is rendered useless

By putting “having milky sap” and “displacing grasses”,  the meaning is distorted in option C.
