Each employee at a certain bank is either a clerk or an agent or both. of every 3 agents one is also a clerk. of every two clerks, one is also an agent. what is the probability that an employee randomly selected from a bank is boh an agent and a clerk?

B 1/3
C 1/4
D 1/5
E 2/5

My Ques: Please help in solving this by probability. Overlaping sets method is confusing me.

This problem becomes very easy once you use Venn Diagram

As there is only one agent who is also a clerk, and one clerk who is an agent the overlapping part will have just 1 member. It is the same person in both cases who is both agent and clerk, so that is the key point here..

Now, we see there is just one out of 4 employees who is both agent and clerk. Hence,

P(AUC) = 1/4
