GRE Question of the day – 14/10/16
If “n” a positive two digit integer, is 4 more than the multiple of 6 and also 3 more than the multiple of 5, then n could be?
A. 21
B. 28
C. 48
D. 58
E. 88
F. 98
The key here is creating a list from the given two conditions and then finding the common number.
The 1st number is 6K+4 : 4,10,16,22,28…….. where K is an Integer.
The 2nd number is 5L+3: 3,8,13,18,23,28……. where L is an Integer.
Here, the common number is 28. Hence, A is one answer. To find other answers add the LCM of 6 and 5 to 28 as that will be the separation of two numbers from each other.
Hence, the answers will be 28,58,88 i.e. B,D and E.
