How is option 1 divisible by K ?

What is the remainder when the positive integer n is divided by the positive integer k, where k>1?

I. n = (k+1)^3

II. k = 5

If we open it up it will come n=(k+1)^3=k^3+3k^2+3k+1=k(k^2+3k+3)+1 –> first term, k(k^2+3k+3), is divisible by k but the second term ?

Hi Ryan,

The question is not about whether it is divisible or not ?

but here the question is asking what is the remainder ?

So, remainder has to be 1.

So statement I is sufficient.

Hope this helps.
