Is the product of a certain pair of integers even? (1) The sum of the integers is odd. (2) One o f the integers is even and the other is odd.
I am just confused why zero (0) is not consider in both the options?
a pair of integer can also include 0
# for both the points in the question- integers can also contain 0
please clarify.
Thanks
Hi Shashank,
What is the confusion ?
Even if you use “zero”, still answer is same. “0” is even.
Product of two numbers, let say x and y has to be even means, either one of them or even, or both of them even.
Statement I is sufficient:
Even + Odd = Odd.
So atleast one them would be even, so the product is even.
Statement II is sufficient:
Given one them would be even, so the product is even.
So the answer is D.
