Came across a news article where it was mentioned;
” Amazon and Walmart, which now owns 77% of the India’ largest etailer Flipkart, have sought the support of the US government.”
I hope to clarify with you if above statement should be considered correct i.e. isn’t the first line somehow communicates that Amazon and Walmart both own Flipkart ?

Pay attention to what follows the “which”. Owns is a singular verb and applies to only Walmart. If the verb was plural “own”, the meaning conveyed is that Amazon and Walmart jointly own the share
