Please explain. here D and E are also confusing.
Hi Ashish,
The contrast in this sentence is as follows: Heirloom tomatoes look less appetizing. But they are more flavorful and in demand.
All of the remaining information are addnl facts and a description of how the heirloom tomatoes are less appetizing.
The part within the em dashes, “they are often green and striped, or have plenty of bumps and bruises” is an explanation of the fact that heirloom tomatoes appear less appetizing than most of their round and red supermarket cousins.
Based on my above explanation of the part within the em dashes, only options B, D and E remain because in the options A and C, the part within the em dashes is placed far away from what it describes.
Option D makes it seem as if the heirloom tomatoes are not appetizing because they are grown from previous year’s seeds.
Option E is incorrect construction using although and also mentions heirloom repetitively.
Option B is the correct answer.
Hope this helps!
