Will C be the correct answer? if c is correct then why is Aand B wrong?
According to the Better Business Bureau, if you fail to advertise the highest price in a range of prices for a service or product as prominently as that of the lowest, it violates the New York Consumer Protection Law.
(A) if you fail to advertise the highest price in a range of prices for a service or product as prominently as that of the lowest, it
(B) if one fails to advertise the highest price in a range of prices for a service or product as prominently as the lowest price, it
(C) failure to advertise the highest price in a range of prices for a service or product as prominently as the lowest-Idiomatically correct.
(D) failure to advertise as prominently the highest price in a range of prices for a service or product as the lowest- as prominently the highest price changes the meaning.
(E) failing to advertise as prominently the highest price in a range of prices for a service or products as that of the lowest-failing is not parallel with violets.
it is not proper pronoun for antecendents used
for A — if you fail —– you violate is correct but not it
for B —if one fails——one violates is correct but not it
Please correct me if this is ill reasoning.
You meant “Why ARE A and B wrong?” 🙂
Also, again you have not provided the OA and asked the entire explanation in the subject of the thread. May I request you put a few words in the subject line and actually ask the specific query while posting the entire question? Makes life easier.
A, B-> “it” cannot be used for either “you” or “one”. Nor can it be used to refer to the entire reason.
A, E -> “that of the lowest” is incorrect; we just need “lowest price” not “that of” the lowest price.
D -> makes it a meaning issue. We assume the lowest will be prominently advertised – not the highest.
