Before we begin, you should know that many schools are tweaking their application process and requirements this year. For example, Harvard Business School has set a 900-word limit for their single essay, which is mandatory for all MBA applicants. Earlier, it had no word limit.

“We have heard from some applicants that, without a word limit, sometimes questions (and stress) arise about the ‘right’ word length,” Chad Losee, managing director of MBA admissions and financial aid, wrote in a blog post. “We hope that including a limit provides applicants with a little more direction and eliminates the stress about how much is too much to write.”

Additionally, as the world moves online, schools like UC-Berkeley Haas School of Business and New York University’s Stern School of Business are ready to welcome online cohorts of 50 to 60 students in their part-time MBA programs for the first time. Maybe you can explore this option too!

We suggest you apply in Round 1 because it is the most favorable as fewer classroom seats get taken in this round. As we move to the later deadlines, there is not only more competition, but the admission committees also focus on several other factors to increase the overall diversity of the class.

If you somehow missed the Round 1 deadlines, it is best you apply now. Do proper research about the colleges and programs that interest you and fill out your application.
