Deepak is totally right.

For ex : A
50 on Quant and 40 on the Verbal can give you a 740 or a 750 – depending on how
good or bad your day is
J Again as Deepak said nobody but the GMAC knows how
this happens. However, this depends on percentile variation as well. However
there is nothing more than a 10 point variation for the same set of scores.

Note : This
has to be posted on the Chit-Chat section. The student de-brief section is for
students to post their GMAT experience.

Thanks for understanding.

Hi All,

I have seen GMAT score of 700 with Q49 V37 and GMAT score of 710 with same Q49 V37. How is the final score calculated with the same Quant and Verbal Score.

Q49 V37

I think the percentile would differ in both marginally, maybe by a percent or so

Your question : “How is the final score calculated using Quant,Verbal scores”

Answer : No one except GMAC knows how it is calculated. 🙂   As you might be aware, scoring algorithm is proprietary.
There are many scaled score -total score mapping tables that you could find online but none of them are perfect.
+/- 10 points variance is possible with same quant, verbal scaled scores. I have not heard of a variance more than 10 points.
