Hi Riya,

Became as well known – Incorrect structure. (  As   in a sentence acts similar to equal).  Options D and E are out.

Option A – Because of having . Incorrect. Because of must follow a noun/noun phrase. Having is present participle.

Option C –  Meaning not clear.

Actual meaning: Lovell Wright became well known because of her eccentric personality. Also she became well known for her skillful wax renderings of popular public figure.

There are 2 reasons why she became well known.

Option C is clear and concise.

Hope this helps !

Hi Riya,

A – uses because of incorrectly. The construction for because of is as follows

clause <because of> noun

B – poor parallelism. having an eccentric personality is placed in parallel with skillful wax renderings

C – became well known………..she was. Poor parallelism again

D – very wordy. As well known for………….as (FOR). The for is missing in the second element

E is the correct answer.
