Patrick usually provides child care for six children. Parents leave their children at Patrick’s house in the morning and pick them up after work. At the end of each workweek, the parents pay Patrick at an hourly rate for the child care provided that week. The weekly income Patrick receives is usually adequate but not always uniform, particularly in the winter, when children are likely to get sick and be unpredictably absent. My Ques: Option A  does not specify any solution for sick kids , but even option B  does not emphasize on sick kids. Option B is the OA.  Why not option A?

Hi Riya,

The problem is not sick kids. The problem is unpredictable absence and hence Patrick’s income not being uniform.

Option A – even if Partrick can increase the number of children he takes in, there is no guarantee all of them won’t be absent.

Option B clearly provides Partick with a steady income regardless of whether children are present/absent and that exactly is the question you need to answer.
