Probability

If the probability that it will rain on any certain day in City X was 40 %, then what is the probability that it rains once in two days?

  1. 0.24
  2. 0.36
  3. 0.48
  4. 0.54
  5. 0.60

P(R,NR) = 0.4*0.6*2 = 0.48

but the answer given is 0.24, should we not multiply by 2 for the case P(NR,R)

Yes Sabicha.

I too think the answer has to be 0.48.

Unless if they specified it as first day it should rain and second day not.
